Create your first comparison workbook.

Read two synthetic quote files from a permitted folder and ask Agantyx to create a spreadsheet. No business-system connection is needed.

Before you start

You need:

  • Agantyx Desktop for Windows
  • A configured or organization-provided model
  • Permission to any file or connection required by the example

This example uses synthetic information with a fixed example date of 1 October 2026.

1. Install Agantyx Desktop

Download and install Agantyx for your Windows account.

2. Complete setup

Follow the onboarding shown in your installed version of Agantyx.

3. Check model access

Confirm that at least one permitted model is available. A task cannot run until a model has been configured or assigned.

4. Grant only the access required

Download and extract the sample archive into a folder such as Agantyx sample quotes. It contains north-quote.csv, west-quote.csv, the task prompt and fixed-date metadata.

In Files and Folders, grant Read access to that sample folder. Create a separate output folder and grant Write access there. Enable the native spreadsheet creation tool if your configuration does not already make it available.

No ERP connection, email account or Microsoft Excel installation is required for this task. Do not grant access to unrelated folders.

5. Run the task

Start a new task, identify the permitted sample and output folders, and use this prompt:

Read north-quote.csv and west-quote.csv from the permitted sample folder. Compare 20 service kits. Create Supplier-comparison.xlsx in the permitted output folder with Supplier, Quantity, Unit price, Freight, Total before tax, Delivery date and Source columns. Include freight once per order. Use only the supplied figures; do not place an order or connect to any business system.

Example date: 1 October 2026. Both suppliers quote delivery by 15 October 2026. These are fixed example dates, not today’s dates.

Use a skill for recurring comparisons

Define the required sources, quantity, freight treatment and output columns as reusable instructions. Keep the skill enabled and make the sample files available to the task.

6. Inspect the workbook

Open Supplier-comparison.xlsx from the output folder. Check the source columns and arithmetic: North Supply is 20 × EUR 60 + EUR 0 = EUR 1,200; West Supply is 20 × EUR 58 + EUR 60 = EUR 1,220. The difference is EUR 20 before tax.

WorkbookSupplier-comparison.xlsx

North SupplyEUR 1,200EUR 0EUR 1,200
West SupplyEUR 1,160EUR 60EUR 1,220

Scroll sideways to see more columns.

Review the recorded file reads and workbook creation. No order should have been placed. Missing or contradictory source data should remain explicit rather than be invented.

Troubleshooting

Spreadsheet tool unavailable

Enable native spreadsheet creation or ask your administrator to make it available. A text answer alone does not complete this task.

Connection unavailable

Check that the required connection is configured and reachable.

Access denied

Confirm that the current user and session are permitted to use the requested resource.

No model available

Configure a model or ask your administrator which model should be assigned.
